I think I may have made a friend...

I've noticed that over the last three days I've heard the call of a little Australian Eastern Rosella and it keeps coming back to visit every morning.

The first time I heard it, I went outside but had no real luck finding it. After I crossed over the road from our house I found it in a tree, but it was difficult to get a good photo. Despite that, I managed these two shots:

Enjoying the texture of the branch, gently rubbing it's head against it.

I'll take this one as a signal it's saying hello with a little wave to me!

Yesterday I heard the call of a Rosella again, and this time when I went outside to see if I could see where it was, it was in a tree just over the fence from my place - so, naturally I took it's photo again.

In the tree just behind my house this time, perfect spot to capture a shot.

So today, keeping my ear out I thought I heard it again, and luck would have it, it's back. This time though it was a little higher up in a tree a bit further away, but that morning light was fantastic creating a highlight around it's feathers.

Not quite as close this morning, but a little shake opens up the wings a little in the sunlight

It may be back again later today, we'll see, but I hope we continue to be friends and it keeps coming back to visit as I absolutely love these birds, so bright and vibrant, their call so sweet and pleasant, they're welcome back any time!

Update 9/8:

I have seen them back once over the weekend but no close visits. Here's hoping for a revisit this week coming, but here's a couple of my favourite shots of Rosellas from visits to my home here:
